Chiara’s Scottish-Italian roots trace back to Barga, Tuscany—known as “the most Scottish town in Italy.” In fact, the Mayor of Barga recently visited La Gelatessa to celebrate the shop’s achievements and deep cultural ties.
After years honing her craft as a baker, the Covid lockdowns created space for a new dream. Chiara studied the art of gelato-making at the renowned Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, and from there, began crafting her own imaginative recipes—bringing her passion and creativity to the heart of Glasgow, one scoop at a time.
